How We Serve Families
Parenting services
Get information about your baby from pregnancy through age 5, celebrating each milestone along the way.
Attend social and educational events. These events help parents connect with other parents of young children and share experiences, successes, and challenges.
Meet with our Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) who is available as needed.
Health and safety information
Get help finding medical providers, like a doctor or dentist. We’ll help you access physical and mental healthcare services, obtain health insurance, and connect with primary care providers.
Resources and support
You will always have someone in your corner to give you support as you navigate the joys and struggles of being a parent. We are here as your partner to work together through your parenting journey
Get connected to services and people that can help you reach your goals. We’ll help with referrals to child development specialists, legal services, education and training programs, job placement services, Every Bottom Covered and much more.
Relationship building
We’ll help you build a strong, secure connection with your child. We’ll share ideas and practice fun activities for positive parent-child relationship building.
Setting milestones
See how your child is growing and reaching milestones along the way. We’ll help you set meaningful and achievable goals for your child, reflecting your family’s values, hopes, and dreams.
Through use of curriculum including but not limited to Parents as Teacher (PAT) and Growing Great Kids (GGK) your family support specialist is able to provide age appropriate child development information and resources.
Guidance during pregnancy
When enrolled during pregnancy, you receive help in improving birth outcomes and building a strong foundation for parenthood. We’ll help provide guidance on prenatal care and how to navigate each stage of pregnancy.

Your HFAC support specialist can help you feel informed and supported throughout pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Support may include guidance on:
• Staying healthy and comfortable while you are expecting
• Understanding what to expect during the birth experience
• Easing worries or questions about labor and delivery
• Learning techniques that may support a smoother delivery

Babies grow and change quickly. Your HFAC support specialist can help you understand your
baby’s development during pregnancy and throughout the first years. Support may include
guidance on:
• Tracking growth and development month by month
• Understanding developmental milestones
• Learning ways to support your baby’s progress
• Knowing what to expect as your baby grows

Babies cry for many reasons. They may be hungry, wet, tired, or uncomfortable—and sometimes they cry even after their needs have been met. Your HFAC support specialist can help you understand your baby’s cues and feel more confident responding. Support may include guidance on:
• Using healthy coping strategies when crying feels overwhelming
• Recognizing signs that your baby may be sick
• Knowing when to call the pediatrician
• Finding calm, caring ways to comfort your baby
